Your Challenges
• Applying superior market know how for strategies, processes & tools achieving convincing
success for our customers
• Taking responsibility for the successful management, evaluation and implementation of freight
procurement strategies for the leading global transport market
• Provide leading global players with business decision support across the value chain
Key Responsibilities
• Creation and maintenance of key statistical reports as well as evaluation of extensive
customer data (network, flows, cost savings)
• Providing ongoing analysis utilizing rate data bases and transport market trends to determine
underlying causes of freight developments and provide recommendations for improvements
• Support the Value Network Management with Benchmarking, Market Radars, Global Costs
Data Base, TCO Models and Costs Forecasts
• Development of customised tender concepts based on sourcing requirements & strategy for
Ocean Transport, Global Air and European Road & Rail.
• Tender management, evaluation of bids and allocation of logistics services. Current transport
& logistics procurement >6 bn EUR business value
• Conduct Community events and conferences for 50 worldwide leading companies of the
Fortune 200 accounting for more than 7bn EUR/a freight volume
• Development of strategies and organizational requirements which enable customers to realize
the competitive edge for freight procurement and streamline their purchasing processes
Your Profile / Qualifications:
• Excellent university degree (Bachelor/Master), preferably in economics,
business administration, engineering or comparable degree with equivalent experience
• Initial relevant work experience preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and high-level reasoning and numerical skills
• Attention to detail, ability to do in-depth data mining, and a methodical approach to work
• Ability to comfortably act as a liaison between teams and management
• Team player, but with the confidence to act independently
• Superior communication (written and verbal) skills
• Fluent in English, good German skills are preferred; third language is of advantage
• Computer literate,(sound knowledge of SQL, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and
Visual Basic)
